Gary Olson is a Technology Architect and Advisor for Digital Media Strategies GARY OLSON is a Technology Architect and Advisor for Digital Media Strategies, who has developed a wide range of innovative broadcast, digital media, content management and information products and services. Gary advises on the best use of technology in the migration and transition from traditional media technology to digital platforms for broadcast, broadband, wireless, portable multimedia and On-Demand media. Gary’s substantial experience in working with project sponsors and stakeholders helps them understand the changes associated with digital media platforms and file-based workflows.
Gary has advised major US and international broadcasters, corporations and institutions on new digital production and distribution. He is a recognized industry leader with practical experience in the analysis, selection, and uses of technology and as an innovator in media technologies and broadcast design.
Gary led the design team to develop the requirements for the UN Media Asset Management and Broadcast Automation System. Working with AARP, Gary defined the requirements and design for a Media Asset Management environment integrating multiple business units. For CONCACAF (Soccer Confederation) Gary designed one of the first file-based 1080i High Definition digital media production facilities. For the Metropolitan Museum of Art Education Center he developed the digital media strategy and designed its technology systems. Gary’s project portfolio includes the planning, design and management of large scale projects. His projects include the design and launch of the first commercial broadcast and satellite television networks in Eastern Europe, the Caribbean and South America.
