As HD EXPO Approaches Final Transition to Createasphere, Digital Asset Management Conference is Unveiled
December 1, 2009 (Burbank, CA) As HD-EXPO makes its full transition to Createasphere, Kristin Petrovich, President of HD EXPO, has announced a powerful addition to their programming and events. Createasphere’s Digital Asset Management Conference and Exhibition (DAM) will debut alongside the next Createasphere in February, 2010 at Universal City in Los Angeles, California. DAM will be a separate, co-located event at February’s Createasphere and during September’s New York Createasphere.
HD EXPO - Createasphere recently presented its two-day, flagship expo on November 4th & 5th in Burbank, CA. “We have just presented one of our most successful Expos ever, surpassing our attendance, exhibition, and speaker goals. As HD EXPO completes the transition to Createasphere at the end of 2009, we believe that our shows have grown deep roots in the community,” said Kristin Petrovich, President of HD EXPO. “The advent of DAM will address the industry’s growing interest and need for Digital Asset Management.”
Deciding to launch Createasphere’s Digital Asset Management came after thoughtful analysis. Over the course of the past two years, Petrovich and her team carefully looked at the industry’s critical needs. The message that consistently came back to them was that management and manipulation of entertainment content is, and will be, the most important topic for the foreseeable future. With global spending on DAM estimated to increase from $500 million to $1B in the next five years, Petrovich believes that ignoring the critical nature of DAM-related topics and business would be shortsighted, and that DAM is a natural progression for the company that has spent the past eight years speaking directly to content creators. “The content, and what happens to it, is of profound interest to content creators and content owners. That directs us to address DAM and its implications,” concluded Petrovich.
Mary Yurkovic has been tapped to manage the event. Yurkovic has spent the better part of the past decade at Playboy Enterprises where she was Manager, Digital Asset Management and Distribution. The Createasphere DAM agenda has been announced and includes a number of critical topics that are centered on entertainment assets. Conference sessions, keynote, and round table discussions will set the tone for a broad-based event that appeals to experts as well as offering fundamental information for those professionals who need to understand the increasingly critical issues surrounding DAM. Topics as diverse as Social Media and DAM, The problems and solutions of storage, Monetizing Valuable Video Assets, 12 round table discussions and more.
