January 30, 2009 (Burbank, CA) HD EXPO will take a decidedly independent turn when the popular event opens its doors on March 5th at the Universal Hilton. As expected at every HD EXPO, experts and manufacturers will be on hand with the latest and most in-demand tools and technologies. In addition, panels, “Creative Conversations” and networking opportunities have been set for the day.
“Creativity, Cash and Tools: The Making of an Independent Film” will present filmmakers in a candid exploration of their path to make movies. Panelists include Patrick Lussier, Director of “My Bloody Valentine: 3D.” Christopher Taylor, Director of fest favorite “Food Fight,” Trina Wyatt, COO of Intrepid Pictures; and Dirk Blackman, writer/producer of “Outlander,” and writer of “Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans.” The panel is sponsored by MovieMaker Magazine. A “Keynote Conversation” with a recognized leader in independent filmmaking will be announced shortly.
HD EXPO will present dynamic educational offerings during HD EXPO, including a professional Intensive Workshop from Macprofessionals, “Digital Workflow/Asset Management for HD and Film” and an Intensive from Adobe.
HD EXPO Workshops present professional training, including “Demystifying Color for the Content Creator from Theory to Practice,” “Lighting, Filters + Gels for HD Workshop,” and a VariCamp. These paid workshops occur before, during and after HD EXPO and are multi-day, professional training. Further information is available on the HD EXPO website.
“Kristin Petrovich, CEO of HD EXPO noted that, “The community of independent filmmakers and content creators is vibrant, inquisitive and inventive. The individuals on the panels, our exhibitors and our attendees share a burning desire to keep doing great work, better. It’s important that we enable content creators and the innovative community that supports them to meet, learn, and explore creativity and the tools that empower it.”
