REDucation Community Day Presents the Real Deal: RED Post
Industry Experts Explore the Process
October 13, 2009 (Burbank, CA) REDucation, the only RED sponsored, immersive production and postproduction training that focuses on the RED camera, returns October 12-18, 2009 to the LA Center Studios in downtown Los Angeles. On October 15, 2009, REDucation’s Community Day, a panel of leading post production experts will participate in a highly informational discussion, “The Real Deal: RED Post.” Presented by the companies and experts who have forged functional and powerful RED post production processes with credits and history to support the discussion, experts include Mike Brodersen from Fotokem NEXTLab, Michael Cioni from Lightiron, Dave Register from LaserPacific, and Jeff Brue from Tunnel Post. The panel will be moderated by POST Magazine’s West Coast Editor, Dan Restuccio.
The Real Deal: RED Post discussion will focus on what works, what remains the same, what’s different and how content creators can be completely prepared for the RED post production process. These companies have a wide variety of credits including features, web content, television programs and documentaries.
REDucation was developed by industry leaders that became Founding Members, including; Alternative Rentals, HD EXPO - Createasphere, FotoKem, Keslow Camera, PlasterCITY Digital Post and Michael Cioni. HD EXPO - Createasphere is the operations arm of the training and have scheduled two more dates later in the year.
REDucation is presented in two separate training sessions; RED Tech which focuses on the technical support roles that allow cinematographers to do their best work along with best on-set practices with RED. RED Post moves the students through all the stages of prepping files for postproduction, editing, color grading and finishing. RED Tech and RED Post bookend Community Day, where exhibits, experts and demonstrations are open to the public
