HD EXPO PUTS THE SHOW ON THE DESKTOP WITH MARCH 9th - VIRTUAL HD EXPO™
Over 40,000 click on for Hollywood’s Leading Technology Show
April 28, 2006 (Burbank, CA) Kristin Petrovich, CEO of HD EXPO, has unveiled Virtual HD EXPO™ – March 2006, the second edition of the web-based, streaming presentation of the popular HD EXPO. Virtual HD EXPO - March 2006 presents highlights from the most recent HD EXPO, which is the leading technology exposition held twice a year in Los Angeles and once a year in Chicago.
Virtual HD EXPO™ premiered earlier this year with the streaming of the November HD EXPO. Within 3 weeks of its launch, over 40,000 unique visitors had logged on for viewing. "That’s when we knew the audience was watching!” commented Petrovich, CEO of HD EXPO. Virtual HD EXPO is accessible through www.hdexpo.net.
Virtual HD EXPO - March 2006, features highlights of presentations by industry luminaries including Academy Award™ winners Dion Bebe, ASC and Vilmos Zsigmond, ASC, Oscar nominee Allen Daviau, ASC, and top cinematographers who discussed creative uses of technology on a panel sponsored by the American Society of Cinematographers. "Technology Wish List" panel featured an eclectic and informative group of technology-savvy leadersincluding Dana Brown, Todd Meiserow, Tim Cox and Christopher Coppola. Petrovich commented," Over the past four years, HD EXPO has continuously presented the top creative and technical talent to attendees at the EXPO. We were proud to present Dion Beebe, four days after his Oscar win for "Memoirs of a Geisha," as he talked about the creative side of technology. Now, through Virtual HD EXPO, we can offer that experience to everyone who is interested; for free, with the click of a mouse." Virtual HD EXPO, March 2006 will also include highlights of the exhibit floor including "Insider Preview," insights from technologists, leading manufacturers and comments from attendees.
Virtual HD EXPO was developed as part of the mission of the HD EXPO team to continually push the boundaries of that vision and to extend learning opportunities to an ever-widening audience hungry for information about entertainment technology and creative tools. "Our mandate is to innovatively present, educate, and inform; we are constantly seeking ways to give our growing community access to the information it demands -- however they want it. The delivery channels are changing; and pod casting, streaming, RSS and the options for portable entertainment are absolutely exploding. Getting the experience of the HD EXPOs out of a building and onto these sites is just the first step we are taking to give technical and creative information to the public in a ground-breaking manner.”
Kathleen Kaiser, Director of Business Development and Expositions for HD EXPO, announced another innovative development in providing valuable, informational content to the community; one minute and two minute product and technology information segments to be included in the Virtual HD EXPO and linked from HD EXPO sponsor’s websites. "We were excited to inaugurate The Insider’s Preview at the March HD EXPO, where attendees got a rare chance to look closely at brand new technologies before the crush of NAB." Kaiser continued, "The :60 and 1:20 segments, shot and edited in high definition in the booths at the March HD EXPO, will deliver cutting edge technology information directly to the audience seeking even more product and technology information."
Like HD EXPO ‘s successful Vari-Camps™ which offer training for cinematographers; Virtual HD EXPO™ will be an ongoing presentation of the Los Angeles-based company. Since 2001, HD EXPO has been a leader in exhibition, education and is a powerful force in building and expanding the entertainment technology community.
HD EXPO returns to Chicago on May 18th and to Los Angeles in November.
