Burbank, CA-September 13, 2005 - HD EXPO Workshops “VariCamp" travels to the Pacific Northwest
HD EXPO is in preparation for thee next stop of the “VariCamp” 2005 tour in the Pacific Northwest. The “VariCamp” is an intensive three-day HD Workshop surrounding the Panasonic Varicam HD Camera and it’s supporting technology. Notable industry professionals teach the workshop: Bob Primes-ASC, Michael Caporale, C.R. Caillouet Jr., Matt Siegel and Ryan Sheridan.
“With over 15 VariCamps nation wide under our belt, this is or first time in the Pacific Northwest. We are excited to bring the workshop to this strong production community. We also look forward to having participants from the Canadian production community,” says Kristin Petrovich, CEO/Founder of HD EXPO Inc.
HD EXPO developed the “VariCamp” Workshop on the Panasonic Varicam camera in order to encourage the use of High Definition as a viable medium within the production industry. In 2003 Panasonic contracted HD EXPO to produce the “VariCamp” in Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C. and a private Workshop hosted for A.S.C. members. HD EXPO and Panasonic’s mutual objective is to educate the production community on the user applications of the Varicam camera in order to expedite the acceptance, assimilation, use, rental and/or purchase of the Panasonic Varicam. Both HD EXPO and Panasonic agree that the need for more resources is becoming increasingly important; therefore the need for education about this technology and equipment is vital. “The quality of these Workshops is outstanding for our products because the attendees are those who are genuinely interested in the technology” states Jeff Merritt, Product Line Business Manager of Panasonic.
"We've rented film cameras for over 25 years. In 2003, we decided it was the right time to get into HD and that the Panasonic Varicam was the right camera. We have several Varicams and our clients love them. Our cameras have been on features, shorts, commercials, music videos and corporate projects. We pioneered the Varicam in the Pacific Northwest and we know we made the right choice. We're proud that the Varicam has earned the top spot in the HD Camcorder market." Says Marty Oppenheimer, Managing Director of Oppenheimer Camera.
