With their fast growing High Definition Community, Seattle quickly became an obvious stop on our Tour." says Kristin Petrovich, CEO / Founder of HD EXPO.
HD EXPO developed the "VariCamp" Workshops on the Panasonic Varicam camera in order to encourage the use of High Definition as a viable medium within the production industry. In 2003, Panasonic contracted HD EXPO to produce the "VariCamps" in Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C. and a private Workshop hosted for A.S.C. members. 2004 brings the next set of locations, including: Connecticut, Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles. The Workshops are supported by Annual Gold Sponsors: Fujinon Lenses, IDX Batteries, Schneider Optics, Baytech Cinema; as well as Regional Gold Sponsors that support the Workshops locally: Abel Cine Tech, Bexel, Clairmont Camera, Fletcher Chicago, Microsoft Studios, Occidental Studios, PC&E and Sonalysts Studios.
HD EXPO and Panasonic's mutual objective is to educate the production community on the user applications of the Varicam camera in order to expedite the acceptance, assimilation, use, rental and/or purchase of the Panasonic Varicam. Both HD EXPO and Panasonic agree that the need for more resources is becoming increasingly important; therefore the need for education about the technology and equipment is vital. "The quality of these Workshops is outstanding for our products because the attendees are those who are genuinely interested in this technology." states Jeff Merritt, Product Line Business Manager of Panasonic.
HD EXPO Workshops is the educational division of HD EXPO, a unique High Definition community builder that produces content-driven, theme-based events where both film and video industry professionals learn about High Definition related products, services, issues and trends.
