HD EXPO BRINGS “VARICAMP” WORKSHOPS TO WASHINGTON, D.C. - HD EXPO
Develops Workshops for East Coast to Foster Growth of HD Production in the Area
WASHINGTON, D.C: HD EXPO founder Kristin Petrovich announced today that the organization will bring the first HD EXPO Workshop to Washington, D.C. in order to create a strong high definition community. Panasonic lends their high definition VariCam and co-developed the HD EXPO “VariCamp” Workshop. Together they hope to encourage the use of high definition programming within the production industry locally.
The HD EXPO “VariCamp” Workshop will be held October 2, 3, 4, 2003 at Henniger Media Services, located on 2601-A Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201.
HD EXPO and Panansonic’s objective is to educate the production and post production community on the user’s application of the VariCam camera in order to expedite the acceptance, assimilation, use, rental and/or purchase of the Panasonic AJ-HDC27V nationally. Both HD EXPO and Panasonic believe that the need for more resources in the high definition industry is becoming increasingly important; therefore the need for education about the technology and equipment is vital. “The quality of these workshops is outstanding for our products because the attendees at HD EXPO’s event in Los Angeles are going to be those who are genuinely interested in this technology,” states Jeff Merritt, Product Line Business Manager of Panasonic. “The HD EXPO VariCamp Workshops will be ideal opportunities to not only spotlight our products but also to educate people in the industry about all that the VariCam is capable of doing.”
The workshop lasts for three days, providing lectures and hands-on training to accomplished directors of photography and independent video cameramen in the use of the VariCam camera in a working studio and field production environment. The workshop will be taught by noted directors of photography such as Michael Caporale, Bob Primes, ASC, and Ryan Sheridan and are designed to facilitate approximately 25 students.
The instructors of the HD EXPO "VariCamp" Workshops have years of experience within the HD production community including television, independent films, commercials, documentaries and corporate videos. "I am excited and proud of the quality of instructors that are working to create and teach the VariCamp Workshops. Their years of experience and knowledge in the varied areas of production make it an ideal learning environment. Our intention is to have each student leave with a complete understanding of the VariCam, it's uses, technical knowledge, ideal camera support products and one-on-one coaching from the instructors," states Kristin Petrovich, Founder/CEO of HD EXPO Workshops.
