Receives Great Response from the One-Day “Varicamp” Workshop for the Members of the ASC

Burbank, CA – HD EXPO proudly announces the success of the one-day mini-VariCamp Workshop held on Saturday, December 6, 2003 for the members of the American Society of Cinematographers. Members of the ASC, with credits such as “My Big Fat Greek Life,” “The Deer Hunter,” “The Matrix” Series, “Deliverance,” “Charmed,” “Murphy Brown,” “Witches of Eastwick,” “Clueless” and “Jersey Girl,” participated in the hands-on intensive training taught by Bob Primes, ASC, Ryan Sheridan and Matt Siegel in the use of the Panasonic VariCam camera. “The mini-VariCamp was fantastic! There is a lot of new information about digital film-making and this was an outstanding way to learn more. It was great that there were several instructors with different experiences with high definition shooting. I learned a lot more about the basics of digital photography, how it is being done today and what the possibilities are for the future,” said ASC member and participant Gil Hubbs.

HD EXPO has been working with Panasonic to educate the production and post production community on the user’s application of the VariCam camera in order to expedite the acceptance, assimilation, use, rental and/or purchase of the Panasonic AJ-HDC27V nationally. With annual sponsors of the “VariCamp” Workshops, Fujinon Lenses and IDX, HD EXPO has hosted four successful workshops throughout the United States that have been well-received by attendees. “The VariCamp workshop is time and money well spent. The Panasonic VariCam represents a quantum leap in bridging the gap between high definition and film production in providing a set of creative tools that was previously the exclusive domain of traditional film cameras. A fifth “VariCamp” Workshop is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on January 22, 23 and 24, 2004 at Production Group Studios in Hollywood.
