Industry’s First Set For Createasphere DAM Conference in New York  

July 19, 2010 (Burbank, CA)    The DAMMY Awards, the first honors specifically conceived to recognize excellence in innovative digital and media asset management technology, methodologies and services, will make their debut during Createasphere’s Digital Asset Management Conference and Exhibition in New York in September, 2010.

The team behind the DAMMY Awards has a three-part goal; the awards aim to raise awareness of the rapidly evolving, increasingly crucial role of digital asset management (DAM); to promote creative and technical excellence in the field; and to recognize the achievement in the DAM space.  Mary Yurkovic, the Manager of Createasphere’s DAM Conference noted, “There is such incredible work being done in digital asset management space by innovative companies and individuals.  It is an honour for us to be able to shine the light on the important work being done by people who are pushing the boundaries of knowledge and technology to create something incredibly valuable for their companies and the industry at large.  It is also a great excuse to gather the community together and celebrate.”

Categories for the first annual DAMMY Awards include; DAMMY of the Year; Best Storage, Archive, and or Preservation Solution; Best Strategy or Solution for Digital & Media Asset Management during the Acquisition of Content; and Best Example of Asset & Media Repurposing.  Eligibility for the DAMMY’s include innovative organizations and individuals breaking new ground in managing digital assets, creating new revenue opportunities, increasing security, and developing more efficient workflows to maximize ROI.
