Norm Thoeming, Advanced Digital Services (ADS) Norm Thoeming is Director of Asset Management at Advanced Digital Services in Hollywood, CA, one of Hollywood’s leading post-production facilities. Since 1997, Norm has held various positions on the ADS team, from tape operator, linear editor and operations manager in the tape-based years, to encoder, DVD author, non-linear editor and Director of Sales in today’s file-based environment. Currently, Norm oversees the implementation of ADS’s Digital Asset Management strategy, as well as the various web portals designed to run in conjunction with the resultant architecture. A graduate of Indiana University’s Telecommunications Department, Norm worked in production and advertising prior to moving to Los Angeles. In addition, Norm is an active member in both SAG and AFTRA. |

Emile Hanton, Production Manager, malbon Brothers Farms Emile Hanton was born and raised in Southern California. After getting his start in still photography, Emile began working with friends on film and video projects and his love of movies thrust him towards a career in cinema. Starting out in the camera department as a 2nd AC, he worked on short films, music videos, and independent feature films. Emile made the jump to the lighting department and joined IASTE Local 728: Studio Electrical Lighting Technicians in 2007. He worked on Television series such as HEROS, LOST, CSI MIAMI, and PRISON BREAK and served as 2nd Unit Best Boy on the feature film PINEAPPLE EXPRESS. In between Local 728 work, Emile began producing projects and with his producing partner, Jamie R Robinson and the two formed their production company, Six29 Entertainment in 2008. Emile is currently the Production Manager at malbon Brothers Farms, a creative agency with offices in West Hollywood and New York. A Compulsive Tech Geek, Emile is constantly looking for technology that will facilitate a better workflow for projects.. |
| George Grippo George Grippo joined North Plains as Vice-President of Media Asset Management, responsible for overseeing the global evolution and implementation of North Plains' MAM product suite, strategy development and supporting tactical initiatives. His extensive management experience will be instrumental in growing North Plains' MAM market leadership position. Prior to joining North Plains, George accumulated over twenty years of experience in all aspects of media asset management, with an emphasis on key industries not limited to digital media, entertainment, broadcasting, and retail. His demonstrated entrepreneurial leadership and exceptional start-up vision was accumulated through several venues including: an enterprise software development and a cable and new media organization. Notably, he was Venaca's President and CEO for 7 years where he defined their core purpose and vision. While there George oversaw a successful corporate merger that resulted in a new, operationally-efficient entity. Other career stops along the way include DVA Technology, Sesame Workshop and Digital Network Television. |
