18-85mm Ready for Delivery!
Fujinon's new PL mount 18-85mm T2.0 zoom lens will be ready for delivery with the start of the IBC 2009 show. Several improvements have been made to the prototype version introduced at NAB earlier this year, delaying its release. But the improvements are significant, and were worth the wait. Modifications to the original design include improved focus scales, redesigned iris blades, advanced focal flange adjustment, and several ergonomic improvements, as suggested by Cinematographers, Assistants and Rental houses.
The 18-85mm is the first available from a family of four new PL zoom lenses, designed for the latest Digital and Film PL mount cameras. The other three zooms will be available at the end of the year or soon after.
Fujinon's PL series zooms offer focal ranges that cover from 14.5 to 400mm: 14.5-45mm T2.0, 18-85mm T2.0, 24-280mm T2.6, and 75-400 mm T2.8-4.0 Fujinon's PL zoom lenses feature fast speeds with unprecedented color matched optical performance, and common (136mm) front barrel size and gear placement enabling quick and efficient lens changes.
